Grand Lakes Vehicles established in Angola in 2007, opening the first Volkswagen dealership in Luanda, capital of Angola. Over the past fourteen years, the company has expanded its business and opened dealerships, the most recent one located in the city of Benguela.

TURP – Regular Urban Passenger Transport Project

In Angola, Adone Project Management has a strong contribution to urban mobility. The company, together with GRAND LAKES Vehicles, developed the TURP – Transport of Urban Regular Passenger Project, which provides state-of-the-art buses for the local fleet since December 2017. The project was designed at first to solve the lack of school transport for students in the public school system.

GRAND LAKES has collaborated with Adone Project Management in the delivery process of more than 900 units of buses, equipped with the latest technology by the end of December 2020. Such buses consisted of MAN Chassi model 17.210 , Foca Braun turnstiles and either Marcopolo or Caio bodywork .

All units have a total capacity of 65 passengers seated and include seats for people with reduced mobility and half of the them count with a lift for PCDs.

All units shipped in 2020, were equipped with BioSafe protection barriers for driver and collector, installed to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition to the above mentioned, it has been coordinating the mapping and definition of the main operational routes and the selection of stops, ensuring access to the main commercial, administrative and residential centers in the cities. The work is carried out with experts in technology and mobility.

The program also has an electronic ticket system, satellite georeferencing, fleet maintenance, monitoring and operational management.
